BIOGRAPHY

University graduate

After completing the Bachelor of Arts Degree Program (Eng. Lit.) at the University of Manitoba, I travelled to Europe and spent 2 years living and working in sales in central London (UK).

Upon returning to Canada I partnered with a friend and started a small construction based company that eventually grew to be engaged in a variety of activities. These included shop based applications producing architectural millwork & cabinetry, as well as new home construction, with fine interior finishing & stair work as specialties.

Home-building Carpenter

Interest in the development of properties led to a hands on process of project building from the ground up, as a lead carpenter and general site manager. The success of these initial ventures resulted in a necessity for a change of role wherein the tool belt had to come off.

Construction Project Management

As project manager for multiple development new builds, as well as custom renovations for private clients, the scope of my activities ranges as follows.

15 years as a hands on carpenter involved in work ranging from complete new home construction (framing & formwork, roofing, siding, flooring, cabinet installation, finish carpentry) to shop work (architectural millwork, cabinetry and furniture).

$10,000,000.00 in investment capital successfully managed through 11 projects resulting in 20 strata units developed and sold to date as project manager for private investors.

Personal relationships and knowledge of process with City of Victoria officials involved in the single family to duplex, strata conversion process, sub division and land assembly.

Degree educated (BA English Lit/History).

I worked very closely with a number of Realtor’s in the search for the acquisition of appropriate development properties in addition to the negotiation of terms required for success of the proposed project. Having a detailed knowledge of every project, an ability to communicate a genuine enthusiasm and pride in the product quality and value, resulted in easy closings for our sales agents.

Realtor

I became a licensed Realtor on October 27, 2006 joining DFH Real Estate Ltd.

Combining my experience in construction and development, with real estate contract and market knowledge, has proved to be a unique advantage for my variety of clients ranging from first time buyers, developers and seasoned commercial investors.

My clients benefit from a wide knowledge base, allowing them the advantage of one agent being able to instantly assess the viability of a property, in terms of existing or future market value and the general costs involved to achieve their goal. The applications range from a single family home planning an addition, to a sub-division for multiple homes, requiring municipal re-zoning.

I bring a hard work ethic from construction to my efforts in real estate for my clients. Sharp negotiation skills are critical for successful outcomes in real estate and requires detailed contract & market knowledge, inter-personal communication abilities, creative problem solving, timing and confidence.

Over the past 11 years I have been involved in many successful real estate sales for my clients with no disciplinary action or other legal issues arising. I am excited to continue to expand my client base and provide unique and exceptional levels of personal and professional service and advice.
